QUEJAS de Tiempo Compartido en PUEBLO BONITO

Myself and my girlfriend had went to visit Pueblo Bonito Sunset not expecting to buy. We met with Keith one of the salesmen there. He lied and told us far from the truth, stories which we believed to be true. We paid our deposit and once we were home we tried to book our first trip. Everything he had told us was a complete lie, once we finally reached someone. They had told us that we couldn't stay there, until at least a year out. We were told we had 5 weeks a year at any resort in the RCI brochure. (LIES) We didn't even have enough to stay anywhere. If we did want to stay somewhere it could only be that resort and only for a week, every other year.
He also said we could sell our 6th week making our money back - also a complete lie.
We have researched this company and have found numerous others who were led down the same path after asking all the right questions, they too were massively lied to and mislead to believe this would be a good deal. I urge anyone who is contemplating in signing up in "Ownership" to walk away from this. I also suggest recording everything on gopro/digital camera. Let them be aware they are being recorded before anything is spoken of.
We are now hiring an attorney, something that should have been a fun experience has now become financially exhausting and I hope the best for others who are dealing with this dishonest fraud of a company. They are dishonest and dont care about screwing families over.

Ryan and Connie - I'm not sure where I denigrated the resorts as fine destinations. If you choose to pay above retail to "own" a week, then so be it. I choose to go through the secondary market and never wanted to pay to own. I bought because I was told I would save money, and have many other options at my finger tips. These were all lies. Pueblo Bonito is however stepping up and looks like they will cancel my contract I will keep this updated. As a condition of my refund they wanted me to remove the negative references to Dirk Meyer. I don't see a way to do that. So we shall see. They should be able to sell timeshares without lying about the benefits.

It is unfortunate that Pueblo Bonito has made such a bad impression, and treated you so poorly. However, I have owned several timeshares in Cabo (Villa del Palmar, Playa Grande, Melia, and Hacienda Encantada) for many years and I love them. If you are not in a postion finacially to afford them, don’t sign up. They are luxury purchases and can only be bought if your other finacial obligations are looked after first. If they are affordable for you, and you plan to vacation each year they are wonderful. I am able to take amazing vacations for far less than it would cost me otherwise.

I too have been suckered by Pueblo Bonito Sunset in several different ways. Primarily is that when given the sales pitch they out right lie to you, or knowingly withhold information, even when asked a specific question. For instance, when asked if we could use any of the Pueblo Bonito’s for our purchased week we were advised we could . They neglected to tell us that we would first have to deposit our week into RCI and then pay the exchange fee, just like we would with any other exchange.
Today, I found out that even if I use one of my weeks to go to Cabo using my US owned time share at Vacation Village in Massachusetts; because I am a Pueblo Bonito owner, the only resort that we will ever be able to stay in must be a one of the Pueblo Bonito resorts. So by becoming a Pueblo Bonito owner I have restricted my use of my other time share ownerships. This is very unfair and I will do everything possible to get out of my ownership at the Pueblo Bonito becuase of it. I fell RCI is also a part of this unethical practice since they allow the Pueblo Bonito to put this restrictin on my account. I now feel it is also necessary to cance my RCI memebership and use Red-Week or some other exchange company for the vacation exchanges. I bought last year and only stayed at the Sunset for the first time in May. Although it is a beautiful resort, it is not where we want to be. We wanted to be in town, and bought there, only becuase we were led to believe that we would be able to use our week at the Blanco (which we loved). Anyway, if I cannot get out of my contract, I will take my losses and cancel my ownership and search every blog on the internet to warn people of the Pueblo Bonito’s deceit and unethical practices. BUYERS BEWARE. STAY AWAY FROM MEXICAN TIMESHARES.

we bought two different time shares every other year from pueblo bonito and have not used them yet. I am worried because they took two of our other time shares in the trade and I have been calling resort connections -the people handling the transfer this past month to see if things have been transferred so I will not have to pay the maintenance fees on the other timeshares next year. I gave them over $1000.00 dollars to complete the transfers and they have not been transferred to date.

Thank you all for posting your comments. My husband and I are in Cabo at this very moment for a week. We toured PBSB Tuesday morning and planned on going back tomorrow to sign the contract and move forward with the deal. Now that I've read all the bad reviews we've decided not to purchase. Thank you all!

We have been owners at Montecristo Estates at Pueblo Bonito Sunset for about 5 years. Last year we upgraded to Novaispana ownership. I am surprised at the comments here. We have had nothing but good experiences with the resort and over at Blanco/Rose. I personally think that Sunset as a whole (including Pacifica, Montecristo, Novaispana, etc) is the finest resort I have ever stayed at. We will be staying at Novaispana for the first time later this month, and couldn't be more excited. Our salesman was Mark Biddle - and he was absolutely straight with us during both transactions. I can't speak for the other salesmen. I would say that if you don't read the contract where it says "anything not in this contract doesn't mean squat", it kind of falls on you. Granted, usually timeshare salesmen rank just above used car and copier salesmen, but I have NOT had that experience with Mark. Bottom line: buy a timeshare where you plan to visit. Any claims that you will be able to make money on it are just false. Maybe you get lucky, but for the most part you'll be fortunate to just cover costs if you rent your week. And having them sell your other time share for you? If you didn't get that on paper... BTW, i think a lot of the underbuilding is due to the economic crisis. The first golf course (a Nicklaus Signature course!) is going in now. Long term, i think i will be very happy with this decision. (in reading back over this, i know i sound like a PB plant that's just trying to make them look good, but I assure you I am not! I am an owner from Los Angeles who also owns at the Marriott Ka'anapali in Maui, and I have no connection to Pueblo Bonito other than as an owner).

I call him Dirk Meyer the Liar. As many have already said, they outright lie. And then when you try to get answers it's like talking with someone who has had a lobotomy. He never answers your questions directly always a shuck and jive. Do not ever buy a timeshare from Pueblo Bonito. I will never go to Montecristo or Sunset Beach again because of Dirk Meyer.

We purchased November 2011. Really detested the sales tactics as well as the lying promises about rental options etc. Buying a timeshare for investment was not our plan so we looked at future usage only. Only thing that it is / can be used for. Pueblo Bonito Black Diamond instead of RCI was another rip-off replacing Premier. Just BEWARE!

I was able to get my 299$ Pueblo Bonito Premier fee reversed after about 4 months of diligence. I had to Arizona and Mazatlan several times. I'm still trying to get my deposit refunded fro the timeshare. The time share salesman just lied too much. If a salesman has to lie about his product, it probably isn't a good value.
