Every complaint in this string is still valid as of May 11, 2017 when we were subjected to the same torture. However, we did receive $316 for our time, which paid 3/4 of our car rental costs so we feel that we were somewhat compensated for our time. Based on the incredible number of lies they tried to feed us, we would never consider buying anything, at any price, from this company.

Es lo peor que le puede pasar a cualquier persona que vaya a visitar México. El problema es que te convencen,no te dejan leer el contrato y además de dicen mentiras con respecto a la cancelación. Tengo mensajes de la vendedora diciendo que tengo tres meses para buscar un banco en casa que me ofrezca mejor tasa de interés y que cualquier cosa puedo cancelar en ese tiempo si no lo conseguía. Pues llame para cancelar y wow lo que paso es que solo tenía 5 días para la cancelación pero donde estaba eso escrito? Aja en una de esas que paso las páginas rápido para que lo pudiéramos leer. Pedí la cancelación y en su documento tienen unas cláusulas de no hacer comentarios negativos acerca de la compañía, y es que no son acerca del resort porque el lugar es lindo, es más bien acerca de sus vendedores y la gerencia, creo que si fuesen con la verdad la gente estaría más dispuesta a comprar con gusto y evitarían tener malos comentarios en las redes sociales, están escogiendo una mala táctica de venta. Las comisiones deben ser muy buenas para tratar de verle la cara a la gente.

Es un completo fraude no compren su paquete de ningun tipo ni tiempo compartido y menos un certificado que segun ellos es una gran oferta, solo te ponen excusas para que pierdas el paquete un muy mal servicio y fraude rotundo, no caigan en las trampas, si van caminando en acapulco, cancun, los cabos y les ofrecen un paquete que suena atractivo no hagan caso y rechacenlo. Hello I will like some advice. We went to grand Mayan in PV and bought a timeshare which we decided to cancel the next morning. We want to corporate office there at the resort and it took us 2 hours to get out of there. My question is the lady there gave us a letter which my husband and I signed saying the timeshare is cancelled 100% but I am reading all reviews about sending a certified letter to corporate. Do we still need to send a letter to corporate? And if so, does anyone have the address for corporate office and their email address. The person who helped us cancel was rude and took all the paperwork we had signed the day before didn't even gives any other information for follow up. As we suspected they already charged the credit card company our down payment. Has anyone gone through this before and so what was your experience? Thank you for your time.

I attended a resort presentation on 3/16/16, with a sales person named Gloria. I was referred by a tour agent who took me there. To cut a long story short, this is why I did not sign up for one of their vacation ownership shares:

(i) Extremely high pressure sales. I asked numerous times for a contract to review before signing anything, and each time another sales person would appear and try talking me out of it by throwing in a bonus item - which was also unsupported in writing.

(ii) What started out as a $49,900 price for a 1-br suite eventually came down to a whopping $2,219 as follows:

- Gloria initially pitched $49,900

-Then came a long another salesman - a young Canadian who had been selling these for 14 yrs blah blah blah..in fact, his mother works in the customer service call center! He offered $47,500, with a $25,000 'upfront credit' for a guaranteed rental payment the resort would pay me in order to rent my unit for the weeks I would not use. We are now down to a net amount of $22,500.

-I hesitate and give my reasons - I would like time to think about it. Along comes Max (a smooth-talking white South African), who offers half the price. He quotes $12,800 for a total of four weeks per year, two of which I can use towards a 2br+ suite anywhere in the world, plus $6,000 in Vida dollars credited to my account, and a 1 week bonus stay during the Cirque du Soleil opening ceremony.

- I still don't feel comfortable financing this amount - he then goes back to get 'authorization' and comes back to offer $6,900 for the same benefits as stated above, but for a studio suite.

Get a load of this. From $49,900 to $6,900, and it doesn't end there.

When I ask if I can sign with a 24 hr window to confirm my decision, he raises his voice at me and states it is only good for that day - a down payment of $1,750 today via credit card, and the balance of $5,150 payable in 90 days. I decline for the last time, ask for my passport, and request to be escorted to where I can take a taxi. Friends, this whole ordeal began at 9am and lasted till 6pm. I have never been through so much harassment in my life.

Gloria escorts me to the 'customer service check out team' and laments how nice it would have been if I signed up so we could go out and celebrate with drinks (of course, with the big commission bonus she would get from this sale). She takes me down to another group who are supposed to call a taxi and give me the 'gift' item of an excursion ticket to San Sebastian Del Oeste.

This group tag teams to pitch a sale for a 3 week vacation membership for a total price of $3,170. 'It is our fiscal year close, and our accounting dept. wants to get rid of inventory', I'm told. This is a special deal that came about because a member upgraded to a 2-br. suite, and this $3,170 is what was left over from his/her 1-br. membership.

I hesitate, and to my surprise, he offers me a 'deal' - I will give you this deal for $2,219 (30% off), plus give you 3 extra 'diamond' weeks to be used at a network of 180,000 properties, plus 3 bonus 'adventure' weeks where I can get wholesale pricing for rooms at a global network of hotels - similar to the San Francisco Exchange, RCI, etc.

I am dumbfounded by this wishy washy pricing! A moving target, unexplained by nothing other than the fact that these sales people are looking for someone to dupe and sucker into signing onto an extremely phony vacation ownership program. I stated this concern to the sales person, who id'd himself as 'concierge'.

He resorted to state that I could not afford it and that I didn't want to sign up from the get go (I guess he is also a mind reader). I stated that I was done and wanted to get the gift and the taxi ride I paid for and return to my hotel. Both he and the girl who had second-voiced the sale stood up and walked away, with him stating he would not help me. He shoved the customer profile sheet to me, saying I can call the cab myself. I turned to the girl and she, too, walked away saying 'you're on your own now'.

I walked back through the resort and got help getting to the front where I requested a taxi. When I explained what had happened to the lady at the shuttle/taxi stand, she shrugged and said they should have given me the cash for the taxi since I had already paid for it in advance. I ended up paying for it, and left without the so-called gift of an excursion. I wasted a whole day and deeply regret agreeing to go for this timeshare presentation.

This is an extremely dishonest company. If you really must subscribe to the 7 day vacation ownership concept they peddle, I would shop around at other resorts before signing up with Vidante.

We just went through a four hour "90 minute" presentation here at the resort. It was not our first such experience in México or elsewhere. The free meals and other bonuses like $150 cash are only worth the entertainment value if you tread cautiously. As has been said virtually nothing that is said by the 6 to 10 different presenters is what it seems and much of it is factually untrue.

My girlfriend an her elderly parents own 5 weeks of timeshare in a resort in Canada. The 2000 owners of the resort actually have the title to the facility because they put the developer into bankruptcy when their maintenence fees were not use for upkep. Despite this advantage thee RCI accredited 40 cabin mountain retreat still struggles and will likely end up being sold. The owners will be lucky if the see a few thousand ollars of their investments back. The location and eperience however will still be better for them than most other time share "investors".

The pitch we were subjected to by the Vidanta marketing reps was based on the same sort of premis that car dealerships use when accepting trades....except applified x 10. They know most owners are unhappy with escalating maintenance fees which most have to pay annually regardless of if they use the vacation and othr costs like special assessmens which occur at the developers whim to offset things like store damage. Vidanta tells its marks that its program does not have these issues because its maintenence fees are capped and all risks of extra costs are covered by insurance. What's more is that to reach peak occupancy and keep development momentum moving forward, they will accept trade in weeks as down payments on new timeshare purchass. They suggest this will consolidate the buyers expense, limit their liability for future special assessmens and upgrade the quality of their home resort while at the same time creating equity. Just as a car dealership will provide a trade in valuation of $2000 on a worthless vehicle, they do this by inflating he value of their product and by not informing you of heir products hidden costs. In our case they started with a 4 week valuation of $189000 which dropped to $49000 with a 5 week trade. They suggested he $4000 current maintenence fee paid by my girlfriend would now be reduced less than hald while he luxuries she would enjoy would increase several fold. By the time e were in the debriefing area this deal hafd been refuced in cost to $610. In adition the pressure cooker atmosphere which required all paperwork be done "today only" and before we left he sales pavilion had been extended to six months. The debriefr told us he could do this because he worked directly for the resort owners and not the marketers we had been dealing with previouly. We still did not do a deal and will not proceed because of the tactics applied by the resort and thir agents.

The quality of the Vidanta Grand Mayan appears to be quit high and we have no complaints with th physical resort o its service staff. We do howevrr question what is undern6the paint and buried on the grounds beccause it is difficult to trust a business that markets itself in such a shaey manner. I suspect they get away with what they do because of the shere volume of people they try to con into purchase and the propensity of this sort o practice within Mexivo and elsewhere. People ho think y8 Mexican government or any other goverment including those in Canada and the USA do not fully appreiate the concept of "BUYER BEWARE" and the age old adage "IF IT SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...IT PROBABLY ISN'T! ".

Timeshares at Vidanta are one of the biggest financial mistakes that a person can make. To get scammed beyond that is just icing on the cake.

Me uno a decir que este resort deja mucho que desear, mi hna y su familia fueron a este resort y por si fuera poco los convencieron de comprar con ellos un tiempo compartido , ya saben , les dijeron que era la inversion de su vida y jamas se iba arrepentir, la verdad es que nada de lo que le prometieron fue verdad , no hagan caso a todas esas mentiras.
