We purchased a time share in Velas Vallarta four years ago with the understanding that we could rent them out and make money. We were contacted by Sierra Resorts to sell the timeshares last October . We sent closing costs of $1,800. We filled out a deposit form and was supposed to receive the transfer of funds in January. Now when you call Sierra, the lines are busy and their e-mails are returned.
I got a timeshare that was not what was promised. I sent a certified letter within the five days, they emailed me and said they received the letter but are refusing to cancel the timeshare or return my deposit. What Should I do now?
Purchased at Casa Velas and turns out to be a complete scam. Rental weeks were never sold as promised. I just want to get a return of my money
We purchased at Velas Vallarta two years ago, they told us it was a good investment and we could accelerate our contract to 4 weeks a year and rent those with Sierra for $2000 a week. Of course, we paid $500 to Sierra and have never seen a penny of that. They brougth us 6 beers each over the course of the presentation, and we ended up buying. I have been unable to contact them because their phone number doesn't work and they will not return my emails. I have tried to call and email my salesman on numerous ocassions, but again, all with the same result.
We got scammed by Velas and Sierra . We got aproached by Sierra, asking us if we wanted to sell our Velas Timeshare. We paid maintenance, the fee for tital search and than came the investment tax. No money yet, and all the lines went dead.
We were at VV in January. We bought into their program since they guarantied to purchase our existing time share. No one has contacted us and I think they are out of business. I think our salesman scammed us but he won't call or email us back on our attempted contacts. Can you help us?
I purchased a timeshare at Grand Vellas in Puerta Vallarta and I want to get out of, for untrue maintnance fees and expences. I have a timeshare that has more then douibled in the past 4 years by way of increasing fees and want to know about opting out.
we attended a presentation at Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta. the salesman talked a good story and convinced us his rental company, could sell our old timeshare for $30,000 USD and our Villa Del Mar timeshare for $9,000 USD. Once those were sold, we agreed to purchase a membership with his company for $35,000.00 USD. Of course, we had to pay a "transfer fee" upfront in the amount of $6,000. The transfer fee was also supposed to be reimbursed to us on the sale of the two timeshares. All we had to do was pay the transfer fee and provide proof of ownership of the two timeshares. We provided proof of ownership and of course the transfer fee was paid before we left the presentation. The last contact we have had with he was an e-mail advising he had received all the necessary paperwork and the transfer as in process. We have tried emails, telephone calls (a machine always answers and nobody ever returns our calls), and certified mail -- the address on the contract does not even exist as our certified mail came back marked "no such address".
My wife and I bought a timeshare on March 20 in Puerto Vallarta. After returning home, we realized that we had made a mistake and sent a registered letter with return receipt requested on 25 March to rescind the contract. We have not yet received a receipt and an e-mail inquiry has gone unanswered. I made a down payment of approx. $7000.
The salesman told my wife and I many lies and we just want out. The point swap and rerent are non-existent and they gave us a rental company to sell for us then once paid to sell we never could reestablish contact. This was part of the sales tactic in order to get us to sign. Sierra Rental would rent our timeshare for $8,000 the first year and it would pay for the timeshare. Bold faced lie as a sales tactic.
