QUEJAS de Tiempo Compartido en MAYAN PALACE

If you visit Mayan Palace do not accept any invitation to get free breakfast in exchange of your time, unless of course you are interested in a timeshare. Me and my wife were lured into buying one. They make you believe you need it. The truth is we never used it in 3 months and nobody in Mexico will help us cancel the contract and we are stuck with charges every month

They were calling every early morning to book a timeshare meeting. Me and my wife thought it was totalle disrespectful. I was nice in the beginning then I began explaning we were to busy for that. In the end we booked a room offsite so we could rest without being disturbed. In general, the place is overpiced and be ready for some surprise charges when checking out. The typical Vidanta rip off company!

We purchased points through the Grand Mayan with the understanding that we would be able to exchange the vacation packages through RCI. I tried to book a vacation to Maui and was told OI would be put on a list to contact when a hotel came available, in the end I had to cancel out travel arrangements because I was never contacted and I could never get a hold of a representative to assist us.

Me and my husband were victims of a classic bait at The Grand Bliss riviera maya. The sales staff showed prictures of a nice penthouse unit, but only to give us a filthy ground floor place "under repair". I have a copy of our lease and another´s family for the same place on the same date. What a scam, they were supposed to be an exclusive and distinguished resort.

This timeshare and resort company is a fraud. They charged me high priced fees and also eight months after the purchase, they called me because my credit card had been changed and they could use it to charge the fees for the next year without asking me if I agreed to do it or without sending any bill before. So, if this place is gorgeous, it is because they steal the money from us.

We havebeen members for 15 years. Staff are usually the best. Every year we are subjected to a very pressured?update which is nothing more than a pressured sales pitch. Last year we fell for one of their scams for over $10,000 only to find out this year that they will be taking away some of the privileges they gave us when we bought Grand Mayan 11 years ago when they were more anxious to sell. We are in our 80s and dont think we have 8 more years but our inheritors, our children will have to pay maintenance fees even if they do not use the unit that year and will have pay 2 maintenance fees when they do use it. We had the privilege of not paying user fees if we dont come that year. We also lose the actual week we bought and they tagged on usage fees for the bonus week we were given at the time. The sales person was awful and I did not uderstand what she was saying because she talked too fast.
As well they seem to take something away each year. The resort is concentrating on young people.. They dont understand that older people have the money. Most of the young people here are here with parents or grandparents - poor suckers. Last night a wedding was being celebrated with VERY VERY loud music until 1 am that everyone with ocean view could hear, Circulation around the resort changes every few years making it difficult for older people to get around, As well two restaurants have been closed for dinner making it impossible to find a reasonably priced one to have dinner. The units are getting old, plumbing needs to be updated but tha owners dont seem to care.

Don´t buy anything from them!!!
Mayan Palace is nothing but fraud. They told us our maintenance fee would never go up. NOT TRUE. It goes up every year. We can´t even keep up with the rates, also you will have troule booking reservations, we are so disappointed, we wanted to use our timeshare so bad with our grandkids and to this day we haven´t been able so we refuse to pay one more cent to them. Does anyone how to cancel this?

The resort is very nice and beautiful itself. We bought a membership so we could attend Grand Mayan in Cabo, since they showed us pictures in which it seemed like a luxurious 5 five stars resorts. As we arrived to the Cabo resort we were so pissed to find out we were misled, it was a very low quality hotel, old and nothing like what they have shown us

Hice dos contratos con ellos y pedí mi cancelación y reembolso a lo que me dijeron no era posible y ni siquiera utilicé una semana de hospedaje. Me hablaron ofreciéndome otro contrato donde les rentara mis semanas y por cada una de ellas me pagarían 75,000 MX, para lo cual yo debía primero hacer un depósito de contrato a ellos. No me pareció y dejé de pagar y a la fecha me hablan diariamente para cobrarme o tratar de que firme ese nuevo contrato y de esto ya pasaron 3 años y dos años que dejé de pagar. No se metan en esto!!!

Has anyone else been targeted by a group alleging that there is a court settlement based on the Mayan group selling personal information to a criminal enterprise? Our settlement is supposed to be around $58,000.
The are asking for fees, for us to open an account in a Mexican bank and to deposit $9000+ to cover taxes.
My husband is very tempted by this and I have to keep pointing out the red flags. If I can show him that other people have run into the same scam, maybe he'll let it go. At least he listens to me when I point things out. So far he has not sent a penny to these people.
