me vendieon un pkt con 10 semanas y con membresia de mayan en los cabos y que en 6 meses la podia cancelar. llame y me dicen que no que tengo 48 menualidads por pagar

We signed a contract with Mayan Palace. We later relealized that it was a big mistake so called to cancel it. Yesterday we received an email saying that our contract has been cancelled and we don't have to pay anything more. But ofcourse they have our deposit money and we won't be etting it back. Now, is there any way to get our deposit money back or have we lost it?

Hace 5años compre un tiempo compartido y lo cancele por razones economicas y ayer me hablaron de mayan resort y me dicen que no fue valido y que les debo y si no pago me van ha demandar pero que si compro ya no hay problema la verdad pienso apelar e irme a juicio, considero esto una estafa y la empresa talvez necesite que alguien les mande un escarmiento para que no roben mas o que la Ley actue si es que no estan tambien recibiendo beneficio o son familiares?. .

We purchased a timeshare at Mayan Palace. We were brought to the presentation with the expectation that we did not need to purchase anything,but only listen to their presentation. We also own two other timeshare properties, which is why we weren't interested in this one. While at the presentation, they kept having different individuals come and talk to us to persuade us to buy. We kept saying that we didn't want to buy anything, but then someone else would come to talk to us. We felt that they wouldn't let us leave the room until we had purchased something. They promised to sell our other timeshares and pay the maintenance on them but nothing has been done. We would like our money back for this timeshare and would like to cancel this contract since we had no intention of using it ever. We felt it was the only way to be able to leave the resort.

I am an older member and was told I only had to pay maintenance fee for 5 yrs and my membership was for 15yrs, I have been told now it is 30 years, I'll be over 100yrs old by then. Help

Thank you to all the people who wrote comments about the mayan group hollday club scam. We had just attended a presentation at mayan bliss during which we were promised a great deal or so it seemed. A lot of the things we were told (the contract was for 100 years not 25, we would make money by selling weeks within the mayan resorts, and that they would buy our Vacation Village timeshare from us)all turned out to be lies and we have been able to cancel our contract whilst still in the mayan resort and go back to our original timeshare company who we were actually quite happy with. We were seduced by the offer of luxury but it turned out to be a lot more expensive than we were led to believe. Clause 11 in the contract is also not true. You cannot just go the resort and hand in you rescission letter and policy and get a signed receipt. It took us one and a half hours to persuade them to give us our money back and I will still not believe it until I see it back in my account. During that time they offered us lots more deals the last being our original contract with 80% reduction but we were not tempted. What a mess. It ruined our holiday. Thanks for alerting us. At least we got out in time. Good luck to others not so lucky.
