Quejas Comunes:

We bought time share at Mayan Palace 2 weeks ago. We now have two time shares. We haven't paid in full to Mayan Palace, yet. Can we get our deposit back? We believed we can rent our weeks for $900/week and we can resale our existing timeshare.

We purchased a timeshare with Grand Bliss, and after research done, we requested a copy of our contract be sent to us. After reviewing the contract that they sent to us, we found that several parts and promises of the original contract that we actually signed were missing, including a 50 year ownership and 10 break away vacations, which we could use in the next 30 years. The contract that we signed does not seem to be the same that was sent to us.

Bought a timeshare through Grupo Mayan in Aug 2008 and cannot afford to pay for it. We want out and are trying to avoid being reported to credit agencies. Can you help? We wanted out earlier but was told no one could help.

I paid "closing" costs up front to the resort to "sell" my U.S. timeshare so I could buy one of their's.  I paidCan you help me $4,700.00, since I know now that it was a scam and they will never sell it.

We were scamed into purchasing at Timeshare in Porto Vallarta, Mexico in 2009. we were told they would rent out our unit etc. We were also told it was deeded.. it is not, it is a membership. We can not afford this anylonger and need to cancel the contract. They will not work with us.

I bought a timeshare from Mayan Palace. I was assured over and over that there would be no maintenance fees unless I actually used the reservation. Today I received a bill for maintenance fees. I then went over the contract and sure enough it says there are maintenance fees for 20 years. Even though they verbally told me there would be no maintenance fees. I did sign it but this was a bonus week that I didn't even ask for the main timeshare says what they told me, no maintenance fees.

I recently cancelled a contract with Grand Mayan and upon trying to leave was talked into purchasing a membership with Grand Paradise Club instead. I was told by the staff the 5 day law does not apply to this in that it is not a timeshare, but a vacation club. I still have 3 days left after today. Is what they told me true?

  • Ray2386 Abril 11, 2012, 4:43 pm

Entered into contract with Mayan Palace; we were misled with regard to "guaranteed" rental (we listed with Regal Resale after paying up-front fee), as well as maintenance fees, as well as enrollment in HSI (where we would get a week of free vacation).

I signed a contract six days ago to purchase a vacation club membership at Mayan Palace After looking at the details more carefully compared to what I was told, I decided to cancel and sent them an email. No response yet. They had me stay at the resort for three nights free. Will that make a difference?
