What happens if you do not pay on your timeshare?

What actually happens if you do not make your monthly payments on a timeshare?
Let's say I paid a $3,000 down on a timeshare and am suppose to pay $300 monthly until it is paid off - what if I discontinue payments - pay no more on it - what will happen?
